Key takeaways
- Google announced immersive explorations on October 28, 2026. The library is available now from the Gemini student hub by selecting “Try immersive explorations.”
- Google says the feature is available to all users. English, Indonesian, Hindi, Brazilian Portuguese, French and simplified Chinese are fully supported; users in other languages currently receive an English-only experience.
- The current product is a curated visual library with guided, layered scenes. Direct access inside a Gemini chat, audio narration and additional languages are promised for later and should not be treated as live.
- Google publishes no model or API identifier, fixed usage limit, enterprise administration detail, standalone price or evidence that the experiences improve learning outcomes.
- Schools and learning teams should pilot a small set of topics against an authoritative source and accessibility checklist before treating polished interactivity as evidence of accuracy or instructional value.
The library launched on October 28
Google announced immersive explorations on October 28, 2026 as a new Gemini app experience for navigating a topic through interactive, visual layers. The company’s examples include tracing Silk Road trade routes, looking inside a jet engine and studying lightning physics, with labels that move from broad systems down to molecules and atoms.
The live route is the Gemini student hub: Google tells users to click “Try immersive explorations.” The dedicated product URL requires a Google Account sign-in when visited without an authenticated session. This is a consumer AI-product launch, not a new foundation model or developer API, and Google publishes no callable model identifier.
All users can access it, with a six-language boundary
Google says immersive explorations are available to all users in English, Indonesian, Hindi, Brazilian Portuguese, French and simplified Chinese. Users whose language falls outside that set currently receive an English-only experience. The announcement promises more languages but gives no rollout dates or complete market and account matrix.
“All users” should not be silently rewritten as anonymous access or identical behavior on every account. The feature route has a sign-in boundary, and AccessAllGPT did not verify school-managed accounts, age restrictions, regional exclusions, workspace administration or feature visibility on a signed-in account. Confirm access with the exact account population before assigning it.
Chat access and narration are not live features yet
The launch post draws a clear availability line. The library can be opened through the student hub today, while opening immersive explorations directly in a Gemini chat is described as coming soon. Audio narration is also a future addition. Neither promise has a date, plan requirement or supported-language schedule in the reviewed announcement.
That distinction matters for workflow design. Do not plan a conversational lesson that assumes Gemini can create or open an exploration from any chat, and do not use promised narration as an accessibility accommodation. Evaluate the interface that the intended account can use now, then revalidate later features after they actually appear.
The public hub shows interaction, not learning evidence
Google’s public student page presents interactive visualizations as a way to study coursework and exposes illustrative embeds including a solar-system simulation, adjustable pendulum controls and a molecular interaction. These examples help define the product shape: manipulable scenes rather than a static answer or ordinary generated image.
The reviewed pages publish no controlled learning-gain study, factual-accuracy evaluation, curriculum-alignment analysis or accessibility audit for immersive explorations. A responsive visualization can still contain simplifications, omissions or misleading causal cues. Treat the experience as an explanatory aid that must be checked against authoritative material, not as a replacement for it.
Pricing, limits and model details remain undisclosed
Google’s statement that the feature is available to all users does not disclose a standalone price, request allowance, session limit, queue policy or service-level commitment. The student hub separately advertises a one-year student plan with higher Gemini limits and other benefits, but the immersive-explorations announcement does not say that the library requires that plan. AccessAllGPT therefore does not infer a paid-plan requirement or an unlimited free entitlement.
Google also names no underlying model, context window, generation method, API, export format or enterprise control for the feature. Buyers and educators should record the actual account plan, visible limits, data terms, sharing controls and failure behavior rather than importing assumptions from other Gemini products.
What schools and learning teams should do next
Trial the library for a low-stakes concept when students can sign in under approved terms. Select a small topic set, define the learning objective first, compare every claim and visual relationship with an authoritative source, test all intended languages, and record whether labels, controls and navigation work with keyboard, screen reader, zoom and reduced-motion settings.
Wait if the workflow requires in-chat access, narration, a language beyond the six fully supported options, managed-account guarantees or published capacity. Reject use as the sole source for graded or consequential instruction unless accuracy, accessibility, privacy, accommodations and human correction are documented. The launch supports a bounded product pilot, not a conclusion that interactive scenes improve learning.

Limitations
This is a first-party launch review, not hands-on product testing or an education study. AccessAllGPT did not sign in; verify a student, personal, school-managed or work account; open the immersive-explorations library; inspect every available topic; manipulate a scene; invoke an exploration from Gemini chat; hear audio narration; test English, Indonesian, Hindi, Brazilian Portuguese, French, simplified Chinese or English fallback; verify markets, age requirements or administrator controls; identify the model, prompts, training data or generation method; measure quotas, pricing, latency, reliability, factual accuracy, learning gains or curriculum fit; or audit privacy, retention, sharing, copyright, keyboard use, screen-reader output, contrast, motion or accommodations. Examples and availability statements are Google’s product claims, and promised features may change before release.
